Carpentry Pty Ltd develops a comprehensive Construction Program outlining the critical path to be taken and timeline works will be carried out so it can order, manufacture and deliver the Contract on time and within budget. Contribution to local skills & development

Where possible, B.I.G. Carpentry Pty Ltd utilises local contractors and businesses in line with the policy of “shop locally”, to maintain a credible business base within the East Arnhem Region. This attitude to support local industries and businesses promotes employment and training opportunities for a variety of apprentices and trainees, whilst contributing to the regional economy. B.I.G. Carpentry Pty Ltd will endeavour to employ two trainees over the contract period which are identified as Indigenous positions, as well as maintain a V.E.T placement. Previously, there have been five apprentices successfully trained as Carpenters.

Training/Apprenticeships:

B.I.G Carpentry Pty Ltd policy is to ensure all employees are adequately trained and qualified for the tasks that they are required to perform.

All employees are inducted into the business and educated on Work Health & Safety policies, acceptable work practices, cultural requirements and environmental hazards.

Mentoring of school-based building programs and apprenticeships within our company has been very rewarding with two of our Apprentices achieving the top distinction in their relevant years.
